KIPCO – Kuwait Projects Company (Holding) – was the Premier Sponsor of the IEEE Global Engineering Education Conference, EDUCON 2023, hosted by the American University of Kuwait. The support comes as part of the company’s efforts to promote quality education and learning.

The conference, which took place from May 1-4, is the fourteenth in a series that rotate in Europe and the MENA region. This is the first time that it is held in Kuwait. The event catered to more than 200 researchers, industry representatives, members of academia and students participating from 50 countries. The workshops and technical sessions focused on aspects of engineering education.

Speaking at the opening of the event, KIPCO’s Group Senior Vice President – Corporate Communications and Investor Relations, Ms Eman Al Awadhi said:

“Education is an important pillar of KIPCO’s portfolio, and the establishment of AUK in 2003 marked our entry into this sector. Since then, we have been contributing to the education of young people in Kuwait through our network of K-12 schools and this university, shaping the future of the country through the quality of learning that we offer. We pride ourselves on upholding a culture of freedom of thought and expression, respect for individual rights and cultural diversity in our institutions.”

She added:

“Throughout the years, we have strongly supported AUK’s efforts to engage with the education community and leave its mark in the field. We are delighted that EduCon is being hosted here this year, where participants will not only have the opportunity to present their work and exchange ideas, but also present the latest research topics in engineering education.”
