KIPCO – the Kuwait Projects Company – is partnering with Alghanim Industries and Gulf Bank in the upcoming conference, ‘Women in the Corporate World: Beyond the Glass Ceiling’. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 4, at Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel.

This conference brings together influential international, regional and local leaders to discuss the importance of having gender diversity in the workplace and ways in which women can break through the glass ceiling that is keeping them from rising up the corporate ladder. Participating as an international keynote speaker is Randi Zuckerberg, former Director of Market Development and Spokesperson for Facebook. The agenda also includes local keynote speakers and two panel discussions on ‘How to Make Work-Life Balance a Reality’ and ‘How Gender Role Identity Affects Career Succession’.

Ms Eman Al Awadhi, KIPCO’s Group Communications Director, said:

“Supporting gender diversity and equality in the workplace is an issue that is being discussed at the highest level across the globe. Gender diversity was highlighted at the World Economic Forum in Davos this year, and statistics from the International Monetary Fund suggest that the gender gap in the Middle East is three time larger than that in most developing economies.”

She added:

“At KIPCO, we believe that it is important to understand the key challenges that women face in the workforce and what could be done to motivate and drive more of them to join the private sector, as well as to create an internal culture where women can thrive in their work and also rise up the ranks to the top. Partnering with Alghanim Industries and Gulf Bank on this conference will offer us the opportunity to further support gender diversity to improve corporate culture and to create a more socially and economically balance environment.”
