KIPCO – the Kuwait Projects Company – has announced that it will be a Strategic Sponsor of the 5th Youth Empowerment Symposium (Tmkeen). The event will be held under the auspices of H.H. the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, on October 25-26.

This is the second year that KIPCO supports the conference. Throughout the past twelve months, KIPCO has hosted the Tmkeeners Program, a series of closed-door sessions where entrepreneurs can interact on a personal level with business leaders. KIPCO and its Group companies have collaborated once again with Tmkeen this year to launch the 2nd KIPCO Tmkeen Award for Young Entrepreneurs.

Speaking at a ceremony celebrating Tmkeen’s 5th anniversary, Ms Eman Al Awadhi, KIPCO’s Group Communications Director said:

“We are delighted to be sponsoring the Youth Empowerment Symposium once again. Our strategic partnership with Tmkeen has allowed us to interact directly with young people who aspire to set up their own businesses, as well as with entrepreneurs who are keen to strengthen their business base and expand their activities. Through our Group companies, we have been able to support these young people with our collective expertise and know-how.”

She added:

“Our collaboration with Tmkeen – the conference, the KIPCO Tmkeen Award and the Tmkeeners Program – reflects our strong belief in the important role that the private sector must play in order to support the growing SME sector and the diversification of the local economy.”

Registration for the KIPCO Tmkeen Award for Young Entrepreneurs will close on September 29. The ‘Startup Battle’ will take place during the Tmkeen conference, where the finalists will compete before a live audience. The winner will be announced at the closing of the event.
